Sports-Specific Pilates
Pilates builds balanced development, “core” strength and flexibility through efficient, graceful movement. Many conventional workouts practiced by athletes build strength and mass in specific muscle groups, but ignore others. Pilates focuses on the whole body as well as the mind. Both serious and “weekend” athletes, including golfers, runners, and swimmers, find that the improvement in elasticity and joint mobility not only enhanced their performance but also greatly minimized injuries.
